Lake Arrowhead, California, is home to a great theatre company. They put on plays like A Christmas Carol, Little Women, and The Odd Couple in a gorgeous woodland, mountain setting. They are also committed to education. Their mission statement reads:
“The Lake Arrowhead Repertory Theatre Company’s (LARTC) mission is to establish and cultivate an ‘arts village’ that provides outstanding professional entertainment, cultural experiences and opportunities that entertain, enrich, inspire and educate.”
Bravo! Chuck Marra, LARTC’s artistic director, recently contacted me to let me know that he will post a link to Do Nothing But Read Day on LARTC’s site, in addition to spreading the word verbally. Thanks, Chuck! It’s people like Chuck who really touch my heart. (My cold, snowy heart. Silly Midwest.) Organizations such as LARTC remind me that the arts are alive and thriving, and that we need to support them in any way we can.
I am now inspired to listen to showtunes.
